Home Made French Fries - Belgium


INGREDIENTS:

  • non-starchy potatoes. 2 big ones serves 1 person.
  • oil
  • salt

METHOD:

  1. Peel the potatoes
  2. Cut the potatoes into french fries
  3. Let the uncooked fries soak in cold water for at least 30 min. If the water turns white, drain and repeat.
  4. Dry the fries off with kitchen roll paper or a kitchen towel
  5. Place the fries in zip lock bags
  6. Store them in the fridge or freezer for at least 4 hrs
  7. Heat up the oil to 160 C 
  8. Fry the fries for 3 min
  9. Put the fries aside when done, and let them get completely cold.
  10. Heat up the oil to 190 C
  11. Fry the fries for another 3 minutes.
  12. Place on a plate or in a basked lined with kitchen paper.
  13. Add salt to taste.
