Basmati Rice


INGREDIENTS: (Serves 4)

  • 4 cups of rice
  • 8 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp salt
METHOD:

  1. Rinse the rice in a pan of water
  2. Soak for 30 min
  3. Drain water
  4. Add fresh water and salt
  5. Bring to boil
  6. Lower the heat
  7. Simmer for 15 min
  8. Take off the heat and let it rest for 5 min

NOTES:
Use 2 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice.
If using a rice cooker, use the same amount of water as for the rice + 1
Example: 4 cups of rice = 5 cups of water.
