Spaghetti Bolognese - Italy




INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 stick of celery
  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 2 large glasses of red wine
  • 2 x 400 gr cans of chopped tomatoes
  • salt
  • black pepper

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in saucepan
  2. Add onions and garlic. Fry till soft.
  3. Add beef, fry till brown
  4. Pour in the wine and boil until it has reduced in volume by half
  5. reduce temp
  6. Stir in the celery, tomatoes, salt and pepper
  7. Cover lid and simmer for 1 hour stirring occasionally.
