Kerala Chicken potato Curry

 

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 1 kg
  • Potatoes – 3 nos
  • Onion – 2 nos
  • Green chilli – 3 to 4 nos
  • Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
  • Ginger – 1 nos
  • Garlic – 9 to 10 nos
  • Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seed – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 to 2 tsp
  • Oil – 3 to 4 tbsp

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seed and let them sputter.
  2. Then add the crushed ginger and garlic paste and saute them well.
  3. Add chopped onion, green chilli and curry leaves.
  4. Saute them well until the onions become transluscent.
  5. Sprinkle some salt and saute them well.
  6. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and garam masala.
  7. Add the cleaned chicken pieces and combine them well.
  8. Now add the chopped potato pieces and mix them well.
  9. Then add a sufficient amount of water and mix them well.
  10. Cover and cook them well till the chicken becomes soft.
  11. Remove the lid and check whether the chicken is well cooked or not.
  12. Once the chicken curry is ready, remove it from the fire and serve
