Kerala Spicy chicken Curry

 

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 1 kg
  • Onion – 3 nos
  • Ginger – 1 nos
  • Garlic – 9 or 10 nos
  • Tomatoes – 2 nos
  • Curry leaves – 4 or 5 sprigs
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom – 3 or 4 nos
  • salt – 1 or 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 4 or 5 tbsp

Method

  1. Cut and clean the chicken. Then rinse, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed ,let them splutter for a few seconds.
  3. Add curry leaves and green chilli,saute them well.
  4. Then add crush ginger and garlic paste ,sauté them well
  5. Then add chopped onion and saute them well.
  6. Then add some spices like turmeric powder and coriander powder
  7. Add red chilli powder,pepper powder,garam masala and salt
  8. saute until the raw smell of the spices completely disappears.
  9. Then add chopped tomatoes and crush cardamom powder ,saute them well, till they become soften.
  10. Add cleaned chicken pieces and combine them well.
  11. Add sufficent amount of water and cook them well.
  12. Remove from fire and serve.
