Beef curry with potatoes - Kerala - India



INGREDIENTS:


  • 500 gr beef (diced)
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves or 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 small piece of ginger (2 cm) or 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 2 - 3 normal sized potatoes peeled and diced
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt

METHOD:

  1. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker
  2. Fry the onion
  3. Add the tomato
  4. Add all the spices and salt and mix well into a paste
  5. Add the beef and mix well
  6. Add water so the beef is just covered
  7. Add the potatoes
  8. Close the lid and cook on high medium heat until first whistle or until small ball closes off the hole.
  9. Reduced to medium low heat and cook for 45 min.
