Beef Chilli Fry

BEEF CHILLI FRY


INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 2,5 cm root ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 chilli, chopped
  • 450 frying steak, cut into strips
  • 1 green or red capsicum, deseeded and cut into strips
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped in big pieces
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt
METHOD:
  • Heat the oil
  • Add the onion and fry until soft
  • Add the coriander, turmeric, ginger and chilli and fry over a low heat for 5 min
  • Add the steak, increase the heat and cook, stirring, until browned all over
  • Add the pepper
  • Cover and simmer gently for 5-10 min
  • Add the tomatoes, lemon juice and salt to taste.
  • Cook uncovered for 2-3 minutes
  • serve hot
