BEEF CHILLI FRY
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2,5 cm root ginger, finely chopped
- 1 chilli, chopped
- 450 frying steak, cut into strips
- 1 green or red capsicum, deseeded and cut into strips
- 2 tomatoes, chopped in big pieces
- juice of 1 lemon
- salt
METHOD:
- Heat the oil
- Add the onion and fry until soft
- Add the coriander, turmeric, ginger and chilli and fry over a low heat for 5 min
- Add the steak, increase the heat and cook, stirring, until browned all over
- Add the pepper
- Cover and simmer gently for 5-10 min
- Add the tomatoes, lemon juice and salt to taste.
- Cook uncovered for 2-3 minutes
- serve hot
