Greek chicken in tomato sauce

GREEK CHICKEN IN TOMATO SAUCE


INGREDIENTS:
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1,5 kg chicken, diced
  • 1 small onion grated
  • 500 gr fresh tomatoes, peeled and pureed or 400 gr can of chopped tomatoes 
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt & pepper
METHOD:
  1. Heat the oil in a large pan
  2. Add the chicken and cook over medium heat for 8-10 min
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside
  4. Add the onion to the pan and cook over low heat for 5 min
  5. Return the chicken to the pan
  6. pour in the tomatoes
  7. add the vinegar and sugar
  8. season with salt & pepper
  9. cover and simmer for about 1 hour
