Pitta Bread

 

Ingredients

▢ 2 and ¼ teaspoon Instant Yeast

▢ 1 tablespoon Sugar

▢ 1 cup Warm Milk

▢ 3 cups All Purpose Flour

▢ 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour

▢ ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. Add instant yeast, sugar and milk in a bowl and mix gently.
  2. Cover the bowl and keep aside for 10 minutes for the yeast to bloom.
  3. Add all purpose flour, whole wheat flour and salt in a bowl and mix .
  4. Add the yeast mixture and mix it with the flour.
  5. Now add little water and knead to make soft dough.
  6. Knead the dough for 5-6 minutes.
  7. Cover the dough and keep aside for 2 hours.
  8. Divide the dough into 10-12 equal sized balls and allow the balls to rest for 30 minutes.
  9. Pre heat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  10. Dust and roll each ball to a 5-6 inch circle.
  11. Arrange the circles on a baking tray and bake for 5-6 mins until puffed up and browned.
