Belgian Stew (chicken)

 


Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken thigh boneless
  • Thyme
  • bay leaves
  • chicken seasoning
  • butter
  • 2  onions
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 50 cl dark brown beer Buy it here
  • 50 cl water
  • 2 cubes of chicken stock (do not put in water)
  • 1 slice of bread 
  • mustard
  • 1 tsp balsamico

    Method

  1. Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  2. Cut the chicken in cubes and season with pepper, salt and chicken seasoning. Fry the chicken for about 4 min on each side.
  3. Finely cut the onion and garlic and add to the pan. 
  4. Add flour and mix well.
  5. Add beer and water and 'clean' the pan.
  6. Add chicken stock cube, thyme and bay leaves.
  7. Heavily coat a slice of bread with mustard and put it on top of the meat, mustard side up.
  8. Simmer for 45-60 min without lid.
  9. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar.
